Madhuban offers a Perfect weekend Gateway Cottage amidst thick jungle; making you feel safe-relaxed and admiring the heavenly silence and serenity.
The Stream (“Paryaa”) is the local steam through rocky patches Flowing across land spread over few acres. Madhuban Sprawls from local river at foothill to top of Hillock in Aare Village Pardalewadi. We have preserved the Natural perennial stream vital for villagers. The Ghat where two streams come together is best spot for our Guests to sit , meditate, watch king fishers, relax in smooth flowing stream. In Monsoon our guests are owed with strength of stream and try to sink in the loud noise.
The Devarai is at core of Madhuban Nature park; untouched virgin thick jungle; is maintained with natural Flora, Fauna. Efforts is to protect and nurture plant and bird life to its original habitat. You will be surprised with local-botanical names and significance of each tree. Do visit the glossary section.
Large part of Madhuban is Devarai; This is the thick jungle maintained as “Traditional Sacred Grove” part of Nature Worship. In Konkan or rather in India you will always find Devrais in every village; these are “Sacred Groves for Gods”.
Devrai is still a force to be reckoned with, and a deep reverence for the forces of nature still survives among its rural people despite their difficulties and frustrations in engaging with the demands of “progress” and “development”.
Goshala; brings the the nature to life, When cows walk with the calves in lawns and across park; ghungars melodies put soothening vibes. Dhenu, Genu and her small calf Banu stay with Ravi and Budhya. Watching them grazing amongst Supari Baug is worth time spent. Hours you can walk along them. Feed them specially patri Pend Laddoos. One can cut the spacilly grown grass and feed our Goshala members. Little Banu latest member added in January; is now habituated to pose with Guests for Selfie.
Gopals are our Friend Family Guests and Local Villagers: Pardalewadi, Aare gaon, Waaki Gaon residents are always eager to welcome and hospitable to guests. They love to spend time with city dwellers exchange the view points .
Agro Park: Organic Farming is a dedicated area in madhuban for 100% organic Farming and Horticulture. As much as possible we have maintained the original forest and land contours; which adds to the beauty of the original jungle and increases the water table. While building roads or making space for new cash crops we have been highly sensitive to avoid deforestation. The original jungle tree is just trimmed for new plantations and no fehling. As new trees come up the old ones will be trimmed just to a few feets. Since the past 4 years we have been growing turmeric besides Areca nut plantations (Supari). Coconut, Mangoes, Jackfruits, Kokum trees. Agro Park should make Madhuban a sustainable project!
